Update - Snow Days and Calendar As I wrote in my community message on Wednesday, unfortunately winter isn't over. We are required to hold 180 days of session inclusive of our 4 Superintendent Conference Days, and we are safely on track for 182 right now. That gives us "room" for 2 more school closures before we would need to exchange a day currently scheduled to be off for an instructional day. When the 2025-26 calendar was adopted, we designated April 3rd as the first "give back" day. That was a mistake that went unnoticed, as that day is an official holiday for our civil service employees. Our current thinking is that we would instead designate May 26 (the day after the Memorial Day holiday and before the Eid al-Adha closure) as the "give back" day should it be necessary. This will be discussed further before a final decision is made, but thought it was important to share. Please bookmark our Calendar and Inclement Weather Communication pages for future reference. |

Budget Study Session #2 The next step in developing the 2026-27 school budget takes place on Monday, March 2nd, at 6:30 PM. The Administration will present a revised budget plan that goes part of the way toward closing a budget gap of approximately $2.6 million from what was proposed on February 9th. There is more work to do between now and March 16th, when a full budget that falls within the tax levy cap is presented. Please follow the process by attending the meeting (virtually or in person) and visiting our Budget page, which contains all of the materials pertaining to the budget process.

Math Parent Zoom 3/24/26 Thank you to all the parents who attended Thursday's elementary Math Parent Coffee at Quaker Ridge. We are grateful to our faculty and administrators who provided parents with an immersive experience that highlighted and modeled the responsive K-5 math fluency work happening across our schools. We are looking forward to the parent Zoom on March 24th (details forthcoming) that will focus on listening to programmatic concerns, answering process questions, outlining our program rationale, and describe next steps!

Technology Survey for Parents We are currently developing the District’s 2026-2029 Instructional Technology Plan, which serves as a roadmap to enhance student learning and prepare our students for an evolving digital landscape. We invite you to complete a brief survey to help us identify the highest priorities for student learning in key areas of Media & Information Literacy, Computer Science, and the Impact of Technology. Your feedback will directly inform our goals for the next three years. The survey should take approximately five minutes to complete and can be found here. Thank you in advance for sharing your perspective!
