This program enables teachers to call in their own experts, to seek outside advice on teaching and curriculum issues, and to organize workshops that meet their specific needs. Funds are used for workshop leader/visiting scholar fees and related expenses.

Funds may be used in many ways. Teachers may wish to invite a guest speaker from a STI course, a consultant who has previously worked in the district, or a subject-matter specialist with whom they would like to work.

A workshop may involve exploration or use of specific equipment, new materials or activities pertinent to a group of teachers, a grade level or a department. A workshop may be given by an outside leader.
