	Inclement Weather Info The forecast for Sunday and Monday anticipates a significant snowfall event that has the potential to require a school closure for the first time this school year. We will make every effort to make and communicate a decision on Sunday. As a reminder, if we have a delayed opening, all schools will start two hours later than the normal start time. If we close schools for the day, all after school events and activities will be cancelled, including the scheduled Board of Education meeting. The business scheduled for Monday would be rescheduled for the February 2, 2026, Board Meeting. 	Capital Projects and Budget Process The Capital Projects Bond will once again be on the Board of Education meeting agenda for Monday night, following the first discussion of the 2026-27 School Budget. This first budget presentation will focus on projected staffing needs for the coming school year. The Bond discussion will focus on the proposed projects phasing and the projected fiscal impact, including details related to taxpayer impact. 	Register Your Incoming Kindergartner! Current residents who expect to have a child attend Kindergarten during the 2026-27 school year are encouraged to complete the Kindergarten Registration process between January 15 and January 30, 2026. Although prospective Kindergarteners may register at any time prior to the start of the school year, completing this process early ensures a smooth screening and placement process. Children whose fifth birthday falls on or before December 31, 2026, may be registered for the 2026-27 school year. 	2026-27 School Calendar The Draft 2026-27 School Calendar was shared with at the January 12, 2026, Board of Education Meeting. The calendar will appear as an Action Item for adoption at the Monday, January 26, 2026, Board of Education Meeting. As a reminder, information about our school calendar and how it is determined can be found on our Calendars page of the District website.
	Fox Meadow Inquires! Fox Meadow 4th graders in Ms. Lynch's class have been engaged in a variety of inquiries this year, including questions about the weather, weather patterns, and the path of the sun throughout the year. They invited Dr. Patrick in this week to talk about the weather patterns and conditions that make a snow day more or less likely. These young scientists have explored a number of hypotheses, including how road salt acts to help melt snow and ice, and the relationship between temperature, moisture, and storms. These attentive observers will no doubt be keeping an eye on the storm this weekend!
