SCARSDALE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
Hello Raider Nation,

Since my last message, some of our teams have continued through the postseason, while others have seen their seasons come to an end.

Both the Girls and Boys Golf teams are Section 1 Champions! The boys team saw Leo Chu place third, allowing him to move on to the State Tournament next weekend. For the girls team, Emma Lee finished in second place with teammates Chloe Ji finishing 6th, Liya Chu 9th, and Rory Winston 10th. Emma, Chloe, and Liya will compete at the State Tournament next weekend in Rochester.

The Girls Track and Field team finished third at Sectionals last Thursday.  We did have the following Section One Champions:
 Alice Nicassio - 100 meters
Jake Saxon - 110 meter high hurdles
Girls 4x800 - Adriana Pettinelli, Leia Patel, Dalia Latzman, Rachel Rakower
The State Qualifier Meet is June 5th and 6th.

In Boys Tennis, Sam Saeed finally made up the repeatedly rain-delayed championship match and finished second in Section 1. He will continue to the State Individuals Tournament next weekend at the USTA Tennis Center in Queens.

Girls Flag Football played in the Regional Finals on Saturday at Tappan Zee High School. They defeated a fast and athletic Middletown team 19-18 to advance to the State Finals next weekend in Cortland, NY.  All NYSPHSAA Championships use online ticketing. Ticket prices are $12.00, and cash sales will not be available at the gate. For tickets, please visit this link

Boys Lacrosse also played on Saturday, defeating Suffern. They advance to the Sectional Finals on Wednesday at Yorktown High School at 4:00. Cash sales will be available on site. The general admission price for all attendees (adults, students, etc.) is $10.00 per ticket, $5.00 for seniors over 62, and children under 5 are free. Online ticketing is strongly encouraged using this link

Baseball beat Arlington 2-1 this past Tuesday, but fell the next day to a strong Mamaroneck team.  Congratulations on a great season where the team saw their first league championship since 2006 and first playoff win since 2018. Coach Gonzalez was also voted Coach of the Year by the league.

Girls Lacrosse saw their season end after a 19-11 loss to the number one seed Suffern. This team improved greatly throughout the course of the season, and the future looks bright.

The Spring BBQ and Awards Ceremony hosted by Maroon and White is on Tuesday, June 3rd, beginning at 5:30 at the Brewster Road entrance. The Awards Ceremony will follow at 6:30 in the Auditorium. You can register using this link
