     Course Descriptions

    MOVE

    Monday (10 Sessions)

    Golf with TGA (K-2/3-5): $275. Learn the basic skills needed to play Golf with TGA. Students will be separated by lower and upper grades. 

    Sports Mash Up with Fenom Fitness (2-5): $275. Let's play! Get moving with a rotating series of sports and games led by coaches from FENOM FITNESS. It's a perfect way to start the week!

    Tuesday (10 Sessions)

    Tennis with GREG and BRIAN (K-5): $275. Have fun learning the basics of tennis with our longtime FM favorites- Coaches Greg and Brian.  

    Fit Foxes with FAST Athletics (K-2): $275. Girls and boys will have a blast in this active club for our youngest Foxes. Students will start each class with proper stretching and warm-up exercises, learn basic skills of a sport (such as soccer, baseball, basketball, Gaga, and kickball), and end the day with a high-energy game of the day's sport.

    Dance with Anton (3-5): $275. Channel your inner superstar! Learn to dance with renowned dancer Anton Bilozorov. 

    Wednesday (9 Sessions)

    Gaga with Talon Fitness (1-5): $255. Talon Fitness is bringing back the Gaga pit! Have fun dodging the ball in this popular club. There will be 2 pits- one for grades 1-2 and another for grades 3-5. 

    Fit Foxes with FAST Athletics (K-2): $255. Girls and boys will have a blast in this active club for our youngest Foxes.     Fencing with New Amsterdam Fencing Academy (3-5): $315. Students will build agility, coordination, and awareness of their own bodies in space while learning how to fence.

    Monday (10 Sessions)

    Crafty Foxes with Lydia (K-2): $275. Kids get in touch with their creative side in this popular favorite.

    Curiologists with Curious-On-Hudson (K-2): $285. Back by popular demand! This is our hands-on science program for younger students. From bubbles to slime, invisible ink to oxidation, these kids will get down and messy and experience the wonder that is the chemical properties of common elements. 

    Escape the Room (3-5): $275. Students will need to solve cryptic clues to open locks and boxes in order to 'escape' in time.  

    Tuesday (10 Sessions)

    Exploring Clay with Mrs. Faranda (K-1): $285. Learn the process of sculpting with Clay in this long-time Fox Meadow favorite. Students will be bringing home many masterpieces that have been hand-sculpted, painted, and fired up in the kiln.

    Studio Art with Lydia (2-5): $275. Refine artistic skills in this studio art course! Feel your worries disappear as you focus on fun projects that let you get creative.

    Global Mythology with Curious-on-Hudson (K-2): $285. Students will learn about common myths from around the world and explore their messages and characters. The myths will come from Greece, Ireland, Native America, Africa, China, The Middle East, Scandinavia, Egypt, and more. Each class will create and craft an artifact from the stories they cover.

    Wednesday (9 Sessions)

    Soap Box Derby with Mr. McKenna (3-5): $290. Students will work together to build and race soapbox cars. 

    Manners and Social Skills with AskMalvina (K-2): $255. Etiquette specialist Malvina Peckerman is coming to Fox Meadow! A certified children's manners and social skills coach focusing on making manners an everyday habit. Topics will include Magic Words, Sharing is Caring, Oops! I Goofed and I am Sorry, and Mealtime: More Manners and Less Madness.

    Builders with Little Scholars (K-5): $255. Calling all inventors, creators, builders, and designers! Come build awesome creations with us! We will create our own designs and build structures using recyclable materials, building blocks, and many other interesting items.

    Thursday (10 Sessions)

    Sew Happy (1-5): $275. Sewing is a great life skill, but it is also great for hand/eye coordination, fine motor skills, focus and concentration, and creative expression! Students will learn the basic techniques of sewing.

    Chess with the National Scholastic Chess Foundation (K-5): $275. Learn to play Chess, or practice mastery of the game with our instructor from the National Scholastic Chess Foundation. 

    Da Vinci Creative Workshop (1-2): $285. This class focuses on how imagination is the basis of science. Students examine the life of Leonardo Da Vinci, the scientist, inventor, and artist. Finding inspiration in Leonardo's notebooks, students will draw out an invention and make a model of it using repurposed materials. 

    Woodworking (3-5): $290. Back by popular demand! This class is an introduction to the basics of woodworking, with an emphasis on the safe use of hand tools. Students will have the opportunity to explore measuring, fractions, sawing, drilling, rasping, fastening, sanding, shaping, and assembly. Fun, functional, and beautiful projects will be created by all!

     

    Friday (11 Sessions)

    One River School of Art: Art Shuffle Jr. (K-2): $330. One River School of Art + Design returns to Fox Meadow! Develop important artistic techniques with reputable art educators from this popular art school.

    Creative Drama and Improv (3-5): $280. Unleash your dramatic side and work on quick thinking skills that will serve you on and off the stage, laughing all the way!

    Brick Bonanza with Little Scholars(K-5): $280. Brick builders will dive into projects and design challenges such as maze designs, simple machine creations, and one of a kind masterpieces in this popular club. Bring your LEGO®-building "A" game and let's build!

    Steam Up (3-5): $315. An overall STEAM module for grades 3-5. Involves topics in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computing, Technology, and life sciences. Each class has a "driving question" to solve through inquiry and solution design. 

     

    COMPUTE

    Monday (10 Sessions)

    Make Your Own Apps with Aubrey (2-5): $275. Learn to program and design apps that can be saved and scanned onto iPhones and iPads.

    Digital Photography with Digital Arts Experience (3-5): $275. Discover the world of digital photography! Students will learn about different styles of photography, look at the work of various artists, study photo composition, work with manual settings on a camera, and finally explore photo editing using Adobe Photoshop. Students will take home several prints of their best shots.

    Tuesday (10 Sessions)

    3D Printing and Design with Mr. McKenna (3-5): $275. Explore the art and practice of creating new objects with our in-house 3D printer.

    Wednesday (9 Sessions)

    Intro to Coding with Aubrey (2-5): $255. This class will cover the fundamentals of programming and use JavaScript, Python, and Swift languages all while playing your favorite games. Play Plants vs. zombies, and build your own Flappy Bird Game, or Mod Minecraft in Tyker.

    Thursday (10 Sessions)

    Minecraft Jr. with Mrs. Marshall (1-2): $275. Learn the basics of how to play this popular game.

    Doodlematic with Mr. McKenna (2-5): $275. Join Mr. McKenna in the computer lab to learn and play with the best rapid prototyping tool on the planet: Doodlematic! Doodlematic turns your drawings into video games. Build a game by drawing on paper and snapping a photo, and have your drawing come to life in seconds. Use multiple game modes that encourage prototyping and iteration. Reinforce reading and writing skills by accompanying games with stories. Students can also become teachers when they turn any subject into a game that others can learn from and play. Make interactive quizzes. The educational benefits of this fun club are numerous and nearly limitless!

    Friday (11 Sessions)

    LEGO Stop Motion Animation with Digital Arts Experience (1-3): $290. Every week, students will build charactiers and scenes with Lego®s, and then film their very own stop-motion animation videos. Students will be given the chance to share their videos at the end of each class.

    Microbit with Mr. McKenna (2-5): $290. Much like a tiny, pocket-sized computer, the BBC micro:bit encourages basic coding and programming skills to prepare them for today's tech-savvy world. The micro:bit can be programmed to do a number of different things. The device features 25 LED lights and two programmable buttons, which can be used in game-play or to skip through tracks in a playlist. It also features an on-board compass to track the direction of the wearer. To program a micro:bit, kids simply need to connect it to their computer and add some simple lines of code to create the device they want!
