    Class Parents

This year we are fortunate to have two class parents assigned to our class. Through the course of the year, they will be contacting families in order to coordinate volunteers for the many happenings in our second-grade class.

    Arrival

At Edgewood School, the first bell rings at 8:25 am. The second bell is rung at 8:45 am. The children will be marked tardy if they arrive after the 8:40 bell.
Please wait outside until the first bell rings. On inclement weather days, you may wait by the main office, in the vestibule by the door we dismiss at, or downstairs by the water fountain in the new wing.

    Dismissal

Room 26 will be dismissed by the last door that leads to the front of the building by Roosevelt Place. In order to avoid confusion at dismissal time, it is very important to let me know, by note, if your child has special arrangements for leaving school (e.g., a lunch date, a play date, and changes in the Kids Base schedule, etc).

    Snack

Your child may bring a simple, healthy snack and drink to school each day.  Please begin to send in snack beginning Tuesday, September 3rd.
A snack should consist of a healthy item such as fruit, crackers, cheese, sliced vegetables, pretzels or little sandwiches. Remember this is a snack and should only take about five minutes to eat. Please,  NO NUTS, CANDY OR SWEETS.
In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, I'm urging families to use reusable containers, utensils, cloth napkins, and environmentally friendly water bottles.

    Take-Home Folders

It is your child's responsibility to bring his/her take-home folder to and from school home each day. All paperwork (notices, permission slips, home extensions, etc.) can be found in the take-home folder. Please go through the folder every evening.

Take-home folders are to be returned to the classroom every morning. I check the folders during arrival time each day.
