A sense of community is nurtured across the grades and involves a strong home-school connection. Heathcote community events include:
Family Picnic
Teachers and students and their family members start off the year with an evening family picnic on Heatchote's beautiful grounds.
Open House
In September, parents are invited to sit in their child's classroom to learn more about the exciting academic year ahead.
Newcomers Reception
In September, new Heathcote families are invited for an informal evening in Heathcote's Meeting room.
Halloween Parade
Parents are invited to see a parade of Heathcote students and teachers dressed in their Halloween finery. Camera optional, but recommended!
Book Fair
The Book Fair committee organizes several daytime and evening opportunities for students to purchase books. A school fundraiser.
Poetry and Art Week
April is Poetry Month at Heathcote. One week is set aside to showcase students' original poetry and art that adorn the halls of Heathcote. Parents are invited to view and are treated to an Orchestra recital in the rotunda area.
Carnival
Set on a Saturday in May, students and their families and friends are invited for a special day of outdoor activities.
