3rd Grade Instrumental Program:The third grade instrumental program is a wonderful introduction to the world of concert band instruments. All third grade students get a chance to play recorder and get three classes in concert band percussion. The students also get a chance to play string instruments with the orchestra teacher.

Students in 4th grade have the option of joining concert band, orchestra or neither. Instrumental students can study flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn or percussion (space limited). Oboe and horn in F (French horn) are also available with the approval of the teacher. Students begin the year in small group lessons and then begin attending early morning band rehearsals in the spring. The 4th graders participate in a concert in the spring.

5th Grade Instrumental Program and Concert Band:
Students who continue concert band in 5th grade attend small group lessons and early morning band rehearsals beginning in late September. They pursue more challenging material, and participate in two concerts a year in winter and spring.
