    About My Classroom

Welcome to Butler House 6th Grade Social Studies.  Please click the link below to learn more about the social studies curriculum and Schoology. This year, students will start social studies by learning about geography and cultural diversity.  These units will lead us into our exploration of ancient civilizations.   In addition, we will be completing a yearlong unit centered on current events. On the weekly assignment sheets there will always be a political cartoon and a news article.  Every Monday, students will have political cartoon questions for homework. Finally, students will be learning about the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.  They will learn about the election process, the two presidential candidates, and some of the political issues.  All students will participate in a school-wide mock election and will complete an election project to document this historic event. Please check Schoology on a daily basis. ALL CLASS ASSIGNMENTS AND HOMEWORK ARE POSTED ON SCHOOLOGY.

To access my Schoology page, students must be logged into their Google Drive Accounts.

Students must analyze the cartoon and answer the questions.
