Quaker Ridge

Welcome to First Grade at Quaker Ridge School! I am so excited to meet everyone on Thursday, August 31st. I am new to the Scarsdale district and new to first grade. I have been teaching 4th and 5th grade for 9 years in Newton, Massachusetts. I completed my student teaching in first grade and have missed it greatly ever since. I'm very much looking forward to having my own class of young learners!

Social and emotional learning is at the forefront of my teaching. Our classroom will be a place where students will learn and grow not just academically, but also socially and emotionally. We will work on many life skills, such as flexibility, confidence, and self-advocacy throughout the year. 

A little about me...I grew up locally in Rye, New York. I went to Union College for my undergraduate studies before attending Boston University where I received my masters in Elementary Education. 

While in Boston, I met my husband, Mike, and we adopted our adorable pup, Lucy. I have always dreamed about returning to New York to be close to my family and, with a recent job change on Mike's end, we were able to make it happen! It is particularly special being able to be close to family as we raise our son, Liam, who turned one at the end of July. Once I knew we were moving back to the area, Scarsdale was a district I knew I wanted to be a part of. I feel so lucky to be here and I can't wait to jump in and meet you all soon!
