Technology Resources at Scarsdale High School

    iLabs (HS Rm 240A/B)
Located at the back of the Learning Commons, the iLabs provide a large, open and flexible space with a variety of technology resources. Group work, performances and presentations and curriculum celebrations are easily accommodated with seating for 80 and configurable chairs and tables on casters. A partition wall divides the space into two smaller rooms, each equipped with a 75" interactive display. Teachers and students have access to computers, tablets and microphones/headsets.

Computer Lab 354 (HS Rm 354)
Room 354 is a shared/public computer lab equipped with 30 desktop computers, large screen LCD, printer and scanner. This room accommodates a class up to 30 students and the furniture/equipment is stationary. Teachers sign up to bring classes here to deliver instruction, do project work or give assessments. When the lab is unoccupied, students are welcome to "walk in" to do research or work on an assignment.

    Library
There are 30 computers on the main reference floor for general student use. Students may use these computers during free periods and lunch; the library is also typically open before school and after school. There are laptops and Chromebooks available for check-out at the circulation desk for students to use while in the library.
In addition, there are two classrooms with computers in the library, each equipped with a class set of computers/laptops and a projector/SMARTBoard.

    Mobile device carts
We have multiple mobile device carts in the High School for student/classroom use. Carts may contain a class set of Chromebooks or Dell laptops. Carts are maintained in classrooms or shared around the building depending on the department. Teachers and students use these devices to facilitate research, project/group work or to complete assessments.

    Student Accounts
    Active Directory
Every student is provided with an Active Directory account which provides login access to:
    • District-owned computers (Mac and Win10)
    • the BYOD-wifi network ("Bring Your Own Device" for personal computers, tablets and phones)
    • G Suite (Google) accounts in our Scarsdale District Google domain. In addition to providing "cloud" storage to facilitate schoolwork, these accounts allow students and teachers to share and collaborate on assignments and projects.
    Infinite Campus Student Portal:
High School students have their own login to the Infinite Campus system through the Student Portal, which allows them to receive messages and view schedules and progress reports.

Students may also receive accounts on other online sites such as VoiceThread or lynda.com for class projects.

Personal Devices on Campus - Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Students are allowed to bring a computer or mobile device of their own to school to use in class or make it more convenient to work on a project. All students who choose to bring a personal mobile device must comply with the our Mobile Device Policy.
