GREENACRESARTGREENACRESARTGREENACRESARTGREENACRESARTGREENACRESARTGREENACRESARTGREENACRESARTGREENACRESWelcome to Mrs. Rosenstadt's Art Class!
In the Greenacres art room, we will spend time exploring materials, developing skills and learning self expression through the making of authentic works of art.
Some of the materials used are tempera paints, watercolors, clay, wood, chalks, oil pastels, colored pencils and collage papers.
Each grade works on both two and three dimensional projects.
The elements of art...line, color, shape texture, space and value will be discussed and referred to throughout the year. Students will originate ideas from their own
lives, observations and concerns. Each child will experience the rewards of unexpected outcomes, experimentation, discoveries and persistence.Art history and academic units of study are often incorporated into our art projects, through discussion and observation.
The Scarsdale Elementary Art Teachers work together throughout the year, infusing the program with new ideas. Our specific curriculum can be found on the Scarsdale Schools website.
Finished artwork is hung on bulletin boards in the halls on the first and second levels of the school.
In the spring we have a school-wide Art Show! Details to follow.
Schedule
Each grade, with the exception of Kindergarten, meets once every six-day cycle. Kindergarten meets twice a cycle.
K, 1st and 2nd grades meet for 40 minutes.
3rd, 4th and 5th grades meet for 55 minutes.
