Please note in the current year, Elementary Parent-Teacher conferences were moved from mid-week to Mondays and Fridays in December and June. We are monitoring the impact of this change and will wait until the March 2024 conferences have been held to propose dates/days of the week for the 2024-25 calendar.
Calendar Development: The approximate timeline for calendar development is outlined below:

- November/December: Discussion begins between the STA and the District about the subsequent year's calendar.
- January: A draft calendar is presented as an information item at a Board of Education meeting. The precision of this draft calendar is dependent upon whether or not the State Education Department has released the Regents exam and grades 3-8 testing calendars yet, as the State determines the last day of school (known as “rating day”).
- February: A revised draft is presented as an information item (if necessary), and the final calendar is approved by the end of the month.
Note: The 2023-24 calendar development process resulted in the addition of new school holidays going forward.
