                                        Class Trips and Visits

Our class trips linking film and writing, visits from Lincoln Center teaching artists, museum docents, and classroom activities mesh with our district goals of deepening and strengthening students' critical and creative thinking and problem solving. As you can see, 3sh has a busy schedule this year!

    * See Hear Feel Film Pt. I at Jacob Burns Media Lab  - Thursday, October 16 - 4 chaperones
We'll be attending our first workshop at the Jacob Burns Media Lab for the year and seeing two very short films. The films will be animated and amazing.  All parents will need to drop off children at Quaker Ridge by 8:45 or children can take the bus. They will need to come directly to the classroom, put away backpacks, and sit down for attendance.  We will leave promptly by bus at 8:50 a.m. and will return at approximately 12:15p.m.  For those chaperones who will meet us at the Jacob Burns Media Lab, our program runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m. I recommend that chaperones carpool as we are sharing the bus with another class of students and extra adult seating will not be available.

Children need to bring a lunch that is peanut/nut and oil free as well as a non-bottle drink to keep at school to eat when we return to school just in case we need to eat in our classrooms.

4 Chaperones: Noam's mom, Abby's mom,  Alex's mom, and Rikka's mom.  Thank you!

Please let me know if you signed up but are not able to chaperone. I am asking that parents sit with their assigned groups in the movie theatre. I will give you your group names on an index card at the theatre.  I ask that you actively help with the workshop by volunteering with activities after the movies. That day we'll have a snack of popcorn provided by the Jacob Burns Film Center.  Children with allergies and dietary issues are to bring their own popcorn. Please arrive at Quaker Ridge on time. The bus is scheduled to leave at 8:50 a.m. so that we will be on time for our 9:30 a.m. workshop.
