Social Studies
Our social studies curriculum is focused on connecting social studies to student's lives while exploring a theme. Students will learn about history, culture,economics, civics, and geography. Students will gain information from fiction and non-fiction texts, primary sources, and various technology sources.
The fourth grade focuses on three units.
1. Explorers
2. Colonial America
3. The American Revolution
We study current events by reading Scholastic News on a weekly basis and contributing to a class current events blog. We study the geography of the United States and the world. We use large U.S.desk maps and detailed world atlases to aid in our study.
