Edgewood Kindergarten Daily Procedures
Students should arrive in the classroom at 8:25 a.m. when the bell rings.
Please wait outside until the bell rings. On days where there is inclement weather, you may wait by the water fountain in the new wing.
A FRIENDLY REMINDER ...
I welcome and encourage conversations with parents. If you need to connect with me, it is best to send a note to school with your child. You may also contact me through email (firstname.lastname@example.org). All emails will be answered within 24 hours unless it is a weekend. Please call the main office if there is an emergency (914-721-2700).
At this point in the school year, if you happen to have the information for me at arrival time, it is best to place a note inside your child's take home folder. If your information is an urgent manner, it would be helpful if you could hand me a note. This allows for confidentiality and does not interrupt important time that I need to spend with the children first thing in the morning. Arrival time sets the tone for the entire day.
If you arrive after the doors are locked, you will have to enter the building at the main entrance on Edgewood Road. Please walk your child to Nurse Duffy's office before coming to the classroom. She will change your child's attendance record from absent to tardy.
Kindergarten children from Room 51 dismiss onto the Edgewood Courtyard.
Kindergarten children from Room 1and from Room 2 dismiss onto the Kindergarten Playground.
A full day will begin for all kindergarten students on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
On district half-days, the children will be dismissed at 12 Noon onto Edgewood's courtyard.
Take Home Folders
It is your child's responsibility to bring his/her Blue Take Home Folder to and from school everyday. Blue Take Home Folders are to be returned to the classroom every morning. I check the folders during arrival time each day. All paperwork (notices, permission slips, home extensions etc) can be found in this folder. Please go through the folder every evening.
Snack and Drink From Home Begins the First Day of School
Please have your children bring a peanut/tree nut free snack to school everyday. Pack the snack in a bag labeled with your child's name and the word snack written on it. Make sure the snack is packed separately from lunch. Also, have your children bring water in a spill-proof bottle to school everyday since we do not have a water fountain in the classroom.
Lunch From Home Begins the First Day of School
