The Westchester All County Band is a select performing group made up of advanced musicians from throughout Westchester County accepted by audition. Students prepare the required solo for their instrument from the list below with the help of their private teacher, perform this solo along with major scales and sight reading for an adjudicator. Acceptance depends upon performance level and the need that year for each particular instrument, however, the preparation and audition is a valuable and motivating experience itself, regardless of the outcome and students are always encouraged to perform their solos for Classical Cafe and/or the Talent Show.
If accepted, students will receive their music in the mail so that they can learn their part to be prepared, as the time commitment is minimal but mandatory, only two rehearsals and one morning rehearsal on the Concert Day leading up to the Concert at SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center. This is a very exciting experience where students get to meet and play music with other young musicians from the County and we have had many Edgewood students represented in previous years. Auditions are in the Fall and specific dates will be posted as they are available. The current solo list is in the link below.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: TBA (Names must be submitted to Mrs. Leviatin before TBA) This is a firm deadline. Students cannot be registered after this deadline.
