Dear Kindergarten Families, 

Our first VIP week will begin on November 29, 2021.  On Wednesday, December 1st, the students will watch the first V.I.P’s Flip Grid Pre-recorded Family Story and Read Aloud in the classroom.  

Your child’s username for the Flip Grid account is your child’s first name (the first letter is uppercase). Please note that the teachers must approve the Flip Grid videos before they are viewable to families.

Some Flipgrid information:

Username: Your child’s name with the first letter capitalized. 

After you click the link to Flipgrid, log in with your Google or Microsoft account. On the Flipgrid page, click on “record a response” to record a video directly in the app or upload a pre-recorded video from your device.

Record a video directly on Flipgrid: You can now record a video directly in the Flipgrid app. The maximum recording length is 10 minutes, so you may want to submit two separate recordings for the family story (suggested length: 5 minutes) and read-aloud (recommended size: 10 minutes). After you have recorded a section, select “next" to trim, edit or add more to your recording. When your recording is complete, click “confirm.” On the next page, enter your name and title of the recording and select “submit.” 

Upload a pre-recorded video: If you want to upload a video you have previously recorded on your device, select “record a response” first. Then select “options” to the left of the record button. In the options menu, select “upload clip,” On the upload screen, browse or drop a video file. Supported video files include .MOV, .MP4, and .WEBM. The maximum size for each uploaded video file is 500MB. The full length of each video file is 10 minutes, so you may want to upload two separate video files for the family story (suggested length: 5 minutes) and read-aloud (recommended length: 10 minutes). After you have uploaded a file, you can trim or edit it. When you complete, click “next.” On the following page, enter your name and title of the video and select “submit.”
