Homework is designed to reflect what is being taught in the classroom. It is assigned to give students an opportunity to apply, practice, and extend skills, concepts, and information presented in class.  It reinforces what is being taught, and also promotes responsibility and independence in students.

• Homework is usually assigned Mondays through Thursday.
• Students should complete the majority of their independent assignments on their own. Support might be needed to help create a learning environment, for encouragement, and to go over directions.
• Homework should take about 30 to 40 minutes, plus about 30 minutes of reading.
• Please let me know if your child is struggling with any part of the assignment.  

 

Please keep in mind that all students have different strengths and challenges.  As a result, independent assignment times can vary for each student, depending on the subject, type of assignment, and abilities and interests of the student. 

Most of all, please do not stress.... problems can be solved!
