Walking for Wellness

Walking for Wellness, Grades 9-12

  • As we return to school for the 2020-2021 school year, part of our experience will be together in school and part of our experience will be together on a Zoom virtual meeting.  For the start of the school year as we welcome you all to SHS, our in-person time will begin with a Walking for Wellness unit.  Our goal is to get everyone up and moving to break up the time you are otherwise seated in the building.  You will choose personal goals based on time, distance, and walking speed.  Additionally, we will observe the effects on your cardiovascular system by measuring your resting, working, and recovery heart rates.  Walking is a lifelong way to improve your overall health and wellness.
