    This winter, Scarsdale High School is prepared to sponsor one Gymnastic team:
    • Varsity is designed for the top gymnastic players, regardless of grade-level.

    Tryouts
    Varsity tryouts begin on November 18, 2024 and players must have their completed gold card from the school nurse. Information on how to get a gold card will be emailed on October 21, 2024.
     
    Tryouts will take place at YWCA.
     
    The bus will leave SHS at 3:10pm to go to the YWCA.
    Athletes are expected to be present at all tryout sessions.  Missing sessions will be incorporated into the coach's evaluation of players for the Varsity team.
     
    Tryouts consist of assessments of individual gymnastics skills such as coordination, balance, upper and lower body strength and tumbling skills.
     
    Athletes are also evaluated on their cooperation and their ability to take direction from the coaching staff.

  • Regular Season

    Varsity level gymnastics is a commitment of about 3 hours per day, 5 days a week.  It is our expectation that athletes will be present for all team tryouts, practices, meets, and tournaments. 

     

    The regular season ends in February. 

     

    Varsity is then eligible for divisional and sectional tournaments.
