Learning to Look - Elements of Art
Learning to Look is a PTA sponsored, parent taught program that fosters our children's appreciation for art. For our Kindergarten students, we offer a special curriculum focusing on the Elements of Art, which addresses art fundamentals. The structure of the Kindergarten program mirrors that of the Grades 1-5 program. This pages offers additional tools and guides for lessons excluseively for Kindergarten students. Training/Teaching Materials:
Artstor.org, website with hi-res Paintings, which can be used during class presentations. Click on “Artstor Digital Library” and search using key words such as artist or painting name. NOTE: Heathcote computers will login automatically as the school has a subscription. Login will not work at home.
First Class-- Color: Warm vs. cool colors; primary and secondary colors; color spectrum; color emotion; color and symbolism
