• Cafeteria - School Lunch Program

    Dear Parents:

The Scarsdale Schools Food Services Program extends a warm welcome to all new and returning High School, Middle School, and Quaker Ridge students.

All students in the District automatically have lunch accounts assigned to them through their student numbers, whether or not funds are deposited in their accounts. This is to ensure that your child will never be denied lunch in the event of an emergency, such as lost or forgotten lunch money or packed lunch (parents will be notified if there is a deficit in their child’s account).

We are pleased to inform you that an online prepayment system, MySchoolbucks.com, is available for your child’s school meal account. This system offers parents the convenience and security of depositing funds into each child’s account electronically through the MySchoolbucks.com website. It also helps lunch lines move faster by reducing the number of cash transactions.

We encourage all parents to take advantage of this program. Additional benefits include the ability to track your child’s account balance and food purchases, low balance alerts sent to you via email, automatic electronic replenishment of your child’s account, and more — plus, of course, no more lost or forgotten lunch money. [Note: the option of replenishing your child’s lunch account by cash or check is also available.]

To enroll in MySchoolbucks, you will need your child’s student number, which may be obtained by going to the District website at www.scarsdaleschools.org and then clicking Campus Portal in the top right corner. Once you have logged into the Parent Portal, if you have more than one child, you will first need to select your child’s name from the drop-down list at the top of the Parent Portal screen. Your child’s student number will appear in the header area below his or her name. The student number also serves as the PIN # for meal accounts. You then proceed to the MySchoolbucks.com enrollment page and follow the instructions there. PLEASE NOTE: Having a student number does not automatically enroll your child in MySchoolbucks.com.

We typically advise parents to start with a balance of $150 per child, although you are welcome to deposit less or more. Please be advised that a transaction fee, which we are required to charge, will be incurred each time you deposit money. Funds are carried over until the completion of High School. If your account has a balance when your child leaves the District, please contact our interim Food Service Director Tara Cook at tcook@scarsdaleschools.org for further instructions.

    To access MySchoolbucks.com:

    • Go to www.MySchoolbucks.com.
    • From this site you will create your account and add money to your child’s school meal account. All you need is your child’s name, student number, and school ZIP code. See detailed instructions below.

    Things to know:

    • If you have more than one child in the District, you can handle all online prepayments from the same online account.
    • In order to use the online prepayment service, a small convenience fee for each transaction will be assessed to cover bank fees. Please note that the Scarsdale School District is required to pass this charge on to account users; the District does not profit from your use of this site.

    Registering for MySchoolbucks:

    • You will first need your child’s student number; you may get this number through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
    • Go to www.MySchoolbucks.com.
    • Click Sign Up and enter the required information.
    • Click Finish to complete the initial registration process.

How to Make a Deposit (without using MySchoolbucks):

If you prefer, you may still have your student bring a check to the cafeteria, made out to Scarsdale UFSD/School Cafeteria, or mail it to Scarsdale UFSD, 2 Brewster Road, Scarsdale, NY, 10583, Attention Tara Cook / Food Service Program. In the memo section of your check, please print the child’s first and last name legibly, and the student number.

If you have any questions about the lunch program during the school year, please contact the cafeteria manager at the school your child attends:

Quaker Ridge – Wendy Decker: 721-2789

Middle School – Michele Fennell: 721-2613

High School – Tara Cook: 721-2585

We look forward to providing your child nutritious and appealing meals as part of their overall experience in the Scarsdale schools.
