    FMA logo Friends of Music & the Arts (FMA)
    Friends of Music & the Arts is a nonprofit, parent-run organization that raises funds to provide additional support for the music and arts programs in all the Scarsdale schools. FMA's primary source of funding is annual family memberships.

    M&W logo Maroon & White (M&W)
    Maroon and White is a parent-run booster organization; its goals are to promote school spirit and to fundraise for Scarsdale High School athletics. M&W sponsors Raider Pride Week in the fall as well as fall, winter, and spring sports season awards dinners, athletic scholarships, a holiday basketball tournament, and Raider of the Week ads in the Scarsdale Inquirer.

    SAS logo Scarsdale Adult School (SAS)
    Scarsdale Adult School is a continuing education program that provides enriching curriculum for lifelong learners. Established in 1938, SAS is an independent, not-for-profit organization chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. SAS boasts a wide array of walking tours and courses in current events, culture, literature, fine arts appreciation, recreation, skill development, and personal/professional growth. Classes are open to all, regardless of residency. SHS PTA has a dedicated liaison to this organization who serves on its Advisory Committee.
     
    Scarsdale Alumni Association is a volunteer-run organization, responsible for the Distinguished Alumni program, the Eric Rothschild SAA Scholarship Award for academic excellence, the creation of a digitized repository for Bandersnatch and Jabberwocky publications, an e-newsletter, social media accounts, and other activities.

    DATF logo Scarsdale Drug & Alcohol Task Force (DATF)
    Scarsdale Drug & Alcohol Task Force is a community anti-drug coalition dedicated to reducing the underage use of nicotine, alcohol, marijuana and all other illegal drugs in our community. It aims to promote a substance-free culture by implementing environmental strategies and by educating and empowering youth, their families and our community to make safe and healthy decisions. Since its founding in 1984, the Task Force has involved parents, teachers, school administrators, mental health professionals, village officials, and community clergy in its prevention efforts. SHS appoints a dedicated liaison to this organization to attend board meetings as a non-voting member.


    SFCS logo Scarsdale & Edgemont Family Counseling Service (SFCS)
    Scarsdale § Edgemont Family Counseling Service provides a variety of psychotherapy, mental health, parent support groups, crisis intervention, and counseling services for all segments of the community. The Scarsdale Community Youth Service Project is a partnership of SFCS, Scarsdale Schools and Scarsdale Village and places a team of mental health professionals in the school and community as a resource for adolescents and their parents. The Youth Service Project team at the High School consists of Lauren Pomerantz, LCSW, and Allison Hartman, LCSW. Also under the auspices of SFCS is the Safe Coalition: Children, Families and Community, a community group, organized by Lauren Pomerantz, that raises awareness about violence prevention in Scarsdale. SHS appoints a dedicated liaison to this coalition.

    SPL logo Scarsdale Public Library (SPL)
    SPL at 42 Olmsted Road is closed for renovation. The Library Loft, a temporary space at Supply Field, 244 Heathcote Road, is open for limited hours (click the link above for the schedule) and offers services such as hold pick-ups, reference, children's services, three PCs, photocopier, scanner, new books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and newspapers with limited seating available. Online resources include research databases, language-learning tools, downloadable books, movies and music, and Tutor.com, which offers one-on-one homework help with a live tutor from 3 p.m. to midnight, seven days a week. The Museum Pass Program provides free entry to museums such as Guggenheim, the Intrepid, MoMA and the Frick. The Library will continue to offer exam study nights at SHS.

    SSEF logo Scarsdale Schools Education Foundation (SSEF)
    SSEF is a not for profit, community booster organization dedicating to raising funds and awarding grants to programs and initiatives in research & development/innovation, technology, and physical infrastructure. It supports the School District by funding STEAM-related programs, facilities enhancements, and initiatives that fall outside the District's budget.

    STEP logo Scarsdale Student Transfer Education Plan (STEP)
    Scarsdale STEP is an independent community program that identifies promising students of color and enables them to attend Scarsdale High School for their junior and senior years. STEP students live with a local host family while the STEP Board, comprised of 50+ members, and Advisory Board provide a strong network of consistent support to both the host family and the student.
     
    YES logo Scarsdale Youth Employment Service, Inc. (YES)
    Scarsdale Youth Employment Service (Y.E.S.) is a non-profit organization staffed entirely by community volunteers. Y.E.S. serves as a clearinghouse to help employers who want to fill jobs find Scarsdale students looking for work after school, on evenings and weekends, or during the summer. Y.E.S. maintains an office at Scarsdale High School that is open during the school year (click on the link above for office hours or to register as an employer or employee).
