Dear 1-C Families,
Welcome to First Grade! My name is Mrs. Conklin and I am pleased to be your child’s teacher this coming school year. I have been busy planning a great year for us and getting the classroom ready. I can’t wait for us to begin our journey together!
I hope you have had a wonderful summer. I have spent my summer traveling and visiting with friends and family, relaxing at the beach and pool, playing golf, doing various projects, and writing letters to my 15 year old son, Kenny, while he was at sleep-away camp in Minnesota.
Please engage your child in a conversation about all of the special places you have visited and activities that you have been up to this summer and together, think of a memento to bring in on the first day of school. It can be:
- a photograph, postcard or brochure of a place you visited
- a ribbon or certificate of something you achieved or did for the first time
- a ticket stub from a museum or amusement park.
It needs to be flat so we can display it in our classroom.
I look forward to meeting everyone with a great big smile on Tuesday, September 3rd! Until then, enjoy every last bit of summer. See you very soon!
