    Dear Parents:

The faculty and PTA of Scarsdale High School join me in cordially inviting you to attend your annual parent-teacher conferences, which will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, October 16.

The evening will be comprised of two-minute individual conferences with each of your child’s teachers.  Despite the brevity of these meetings, parents and teachers generally prefer them to less personal formats.  PTA volunteers maintain lists of parent appointments for each teacher and remind the conferees when two minutes have elapsed.  We ask your cooperation in observing the time limit.  If you find that you need more than the allotted time, please schedule a future conference with the teacher or call the general office (721-2500) to request an appointment.  We emphasize the need for patience and courtesy on these evenings.  Our parent volunteers and teachers do their best to adhere to the schedule.  Please show your understanding of the demands on them and support their efforts.

You will be able to schedule your conference appointments via the PTC Wizard online registration system on October 7.  You will need to know your Infinite Campus Parent Portal username and password to access PTC Wizard.  You can find information about registration dates, specific instructions for registering, and a set of frequently asked questions, at Scarsdale High School Parent Teacher Conferences.

We would like to emphasize that we wish all parents to view parent-teacher conferences as a two-night event: on Wednesday October 16, you speak with your child's teachers; on Thursday, October 24, you serve as a volunteer timekeeper (keep time for a teacher) while other parents have their conferences.  Parental assistance has been the key to the success of these evenings.  The PTA is keeping a log of parents who volunteer and asks that each parent volunteer at least two nights over a child's four-year attendance at the high school.

To sign up as a timekeeper, log into the Campus Parent Portal, click More, and then click PTC Wizard.  Timekeepers should plan to work from 6:20 p.m. to 9:10 p.m.  Timekeeper signup will close at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, but only if all timekeeper slots have been filled. Timekeeper registration is now open and if you have any questions about timekeeping, please email shsptaconf@gmail.com

Parking is limited at the high school, so we urge you to carpool with other parents, if you can, or park on neighboring streets and walk to campus.  Please do not park on the school lawns or in fire zones, where your car may be ticketed.

After you enter the Brewster Road entrance, volunteers will greet you and point you in the right direction.  Elevators are located in the hallway just off the Brewster Road lobby  (accessed via the Central Administration wing) and outside room 302 (accessed via the Post Road entrance). The latter one serves all four floors.  We look forward to seeing you on the evening of your conferences.

    Yours truly,

    Kenneth Bonamo
