I have been working as a Special Education Teacher in Scarsdale since 1997. I have worked at Edgewood, Greenacres and Quaker Ridge in all the different academic settings of Scarsdale, such as the Learning Resource Room, the Self-Contained classrooms, the Collaborative Classes and in the Integrated Collaborative Classroom at the elementary level. I was born in Brazil, but have become an American citizen. I have three children and four grandchildren. Teaching is my passion. I enjoy helping children achieve their full potential by teaching them strategies to help them overcome their challenges and become independent learners. Following an educational plan, lessons are individualized and direct instruction is provided in an environment conducive to learning. We respect every child's way of learning when approaching a new topic. Our purpose is to capitalize on the child's talents and strengths in order to build their self-confidence. The LRC is a place where teaching and learning are wrapped in patience, kindness, love, and laughter, too. I am available to answer any of your questions.
