CHINESE PAPER CUTTINGSixth grade students make a connection
between Social Studies and Art.
They are learning about the history
and culture of China and the meaning
of specific Chinese symbols.
Students first selected one of the following
categories. Health, Prosperity, Happiness,
Next, they created their own visual and written
Folklore story incorporating specific symbols
within that category.
In China these paper cutting are placed
on entrance ways or windows to signify
