Welcome to Physics 512!
Physics 512 is an algebra-based introductory physics course that studies the basic principles that govern our universe. Physics is the study of the structure of matter and the interactions between the fundamental parts of our observable universe. We will study the concpets that help to explain our universe and learn how to apply those concepts through design thinking.Assessment:You will be graded on the basis of five things:1. Unit Tests- These tests will be given approximately every 2 to 3 weeks. The date of the test will be posted in advance.2. Quizzes - There will be frequent unannounced quizzes.3. Labs - Your labs will be graded not only on the quality of completeness of the work, but also your adherence to safety procedures.4. Homework - Many homework assignments will be collected and graded. Late assignments will not be accepted.5. Projects - We will be doing several group projects per semester. Grades for these projects will be based on successful completion of the task, daily individual project journals, partner-graded participation and a culminating assessment.Materials: You must bring a pen/pencil, scientific calculator, notebook and folder. You will also need a composition book (marble) for project work. Please insure that your computer network account is open.***Make sure you sign up for my google classroom for more information about the class and helpful resources!!
