Contact Information
If you have a child already enrolled in the District and suspect your child has a disability, first talk with your child's teacher to review your concerns and verify observations. You may also wish to contact your school principal, and the school psychologist (elementary school), house counselor (middle school) or dean (high school). They may then convene a Child Study Team. The Team will direct the implementation of different teaching methodologies or school-based services to address the child's identified need; or they may make a referral to the Committee on Special Education for further review, evaluation and recommendations. Parent resources can also be found at the C.H.I.L.D. Web site. C.H.I.L.D. (Children Having Individual Learning Differences) is a PT Council Committee for children with special needs, with parent representatives in each of the five elementary schools, as well as the middle school and high school |
