Ken Holvig and Doug Rose

A former high school English teacher at ClarkstownSouth, Ken became interested in technology while attending the BreadLoaf School of English during the mid 80's.  Ken was instrumental inlaunching BreadNet, one of the first large-scale educationaltelecommunications projects. Ken has been a presenter at local, stateand national technology conferences including NECC (NationalEducational Computing Conference) and NCTE (National Council ofTeachers of English), as well as a contributing reviewer and writer forthe English Journal and Multimedia Schools.  Ken was recently selectedto be an Apple Distinguished Educator, in recognition of his innovativework with students and technology. Acomputer teacher since 2001, Doug has also taught English on both themiddle school and high school levels in Scarsdale for over twentyyears.  Doug is known for developing innovative computer projects usingmultiple applications, including tools for online assessment, research,and literary and cultural analysis. Doug is an instructor for theScarsdale Teachers Institute, where he developed and taught courses ondatabase design, computer-based collaboration, assessment, desktoppublishing, and the program Inspiration. Kathy Basso, Vicky Beardsley, David Vogel

TheComputer Center's three aides bring with them a variety of skills thatare essential to maintaining the high standard of work that the MiddleSchool community has come to associate with educational technology. Teachers and students benefit daily from Kathy, Vicky and David'sknowledge of hardware, software, and the computer curriculum.
