We Are A World Community

This year, our focus in social studies will be communities -- how they are created and our impact on them through time. Units that include European exploration, Colonial America, and the American Revolution give us the opportunity to investigate how our small part of the world came to exist and how we continue to shape and affect the world around us.
To help us get started on our own "exploration" this year, we took a look at what it means to be curious. What does inquiry mean and what makes us curious? How does curiosity affect the way we learn and why does it matter? These questions will help lead us into our social studies curriculum with enthusiasm and wonder as we analyze the essential questions of each unit.
