In sixth grade art, students shift from the elementary grade level approach of having art once a week to having art every day for an intensive ten-week quarter during the course of the year. This ten-week session enables students to work more deeply and consistently. Students are challenged to think critically while creating a variety of projects. Projects expose students to new vocabulary, well-known artists, and the learning of new skills. All students will have the experience of researching the life and the work of a contemporary artist, culminating in a keynote presentation.
