The Lincoln Center partnership with our First Grade Class is to develop skills of observation, imagination, creativity through guided encounters with the visual and performing arts. Through the newly introduced program by Scarsdale Public Schools known as Aesthetic Education, children in our class are introduced with different teaching methods to expand their appreciation and understanding of the arts. For example: an aesthetic approach to poetry emphasizes "how" the poem means more than "what" it means.
